On Monday, November 30, 2020, Yvonna "Bonnie" Bryant died peacefully at her son's home at the age of 82 following a long illness.
Bonnie was born on March 15, 1938 at Wells Creek, KY to Ethel and Lyle Clevenger. On Aug. 17, 1957, she married the love of her life, William "Bill" Bryant. Bonnie worked in the home lovingly raising her two sons, Matt and Chris. After the boys were grown, she opened her own business "Bonnie's Specialty Shop" where she sold clothing, jewelry and home decor. She enjoyed working in the yard, decorating and cleaning her lovely home and spending time with family, especially with her two great grandsons.
After the sudden loss of her husband in 1993, when he was only 57, she was appointed t replace him as a Lawrence County, KY Magistrate. She proudly served the remaining two years of his term, ran for re-election, won, serving her community well as the first female elected Magistrate in Lawrence County for an additional four years.
Bonnie relocated to Merritt Island, Florida in 1998 to be closer to her son Chris, his family and her sister, Katie. There she worked as a Pharmacy Technician until she retired in 2015. She was well loved by all who knew her. Many people telling her family she one on the sweetest they have ever met.
Bonnie is preceded in death by her husband Bill, her grandson Joshua Bryant, her six brothers: Donald, Johnny, Sammy, Mickey, Lyle and Bobby Clevenger and a sister, Wilma Zelonka.
She is survived by her sons William "Matt" Bryant and his wife Janet of Avon, IN; Chris Bryant and his wife Julie of Cocoa, FL. Three grandsons: Eric, Jeff and Justin Bryant, plus two great grandsons, Kye and Landon Bryant, a sister Kati Reid and many nieces and nephews.
A public graveside service will be conducted on June 19, 2021 at 11:30 AM at the Elliott County Memory Gardens at Sandy Hook, KY. A reception will follow at Lewis & Ferguson Funeral Home at Sandy Hook, KY.
