Wanda Jean (Howard) Bang

Wanda Jean Howard Bang, 74 of Grayson, KY passed away September 9, 2022 at her residence.

Wanda was born May 28, 1948 in Sandy Hook, the daughter of the late Clyde Woodroe and Inez Click Howard. She is also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Alyssa Dale Williams and a great granddaughter, Aydriona Sheets, a brother Arvis Woodroe Howard and sister, Aythel Howard Harper as well as her husband, Charles Wesley Bang.

She was the Director at Elliott County Christian Community Center. She was of the Methodist faith. She was affiliated with Woman’s Club and Elliott County Chamber of Commerce. Wanda retired from the PVA Office as Chief Deputy in Sandy Hook, KY. She also volunteered at the Elliott County Extension Office and participated in the planning of barn quilt squares painted on the barns in Elliott County as well and writing grants and helped with food drops.

Wanda is survived by her loving children: Leslie Mayse of Sandy Hook, KY; Lisa Williams of Lexington, KY; Richard & Jennifer Mayse of Grayson, KY and Keith & Shelby Center of Owingsville, KY.

She is also survived by grandchildren: William Paden Tye & Alex, Charles Brandon Center & Ary, Garth Allen Massie & Morgan, Haleigh Nicole Clise & Dylan, Olivia Faith Mayse and Jaycee Emma Mayse. She is also survived by great grandchildren:  Gauge Thomas Tye, Jaxson Allan Massie, Oakley Knox Massie, Rhett Anthony Scott Center, Leighton Marie Center and Harper Willow Clise.

Brothers and sisters also surviving are:  Hysell Jack Howard of Morehead, KY; Donald Gale Howard of Kettering, OH; Pauline Howard of Marion, OH; Sandra S. Howard of Sandy Hook, KY and Billie Jo Howard Brown of Morehead, KY.

Funeral will be conducted Wednesday, September 14, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Lewis & Ferguson Funeral Home at Sandy Hook, KY with Bro. Jerry Lewis officiating. Burial will be at Elliott County Memory Gardens. Friends may call Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2022, 6:00 -9:00 PM at the funeral home.
