Obituary
Walter Brickey, 86, of Sandy Hook, KY, passed away on September 13, 2023, at his residence. Walter was born on June 27, 1937, at Lucille, KY, the son of the late Will and Rose Ethel (Holbrook) Brickey. He was preceded in death by two sons – David Eugene Haddix and Roy Brickey Jr. Additionally, three brothers – Mart Brickey, Parish Brickey and Roy Brickey and three sisters – May Lewis Hutchinson, Martha Evelyn Brickey and Virginia (Jenny) Burfiend also precede him in death.
Walter was a retired carpenter and millwright, and a member of Millwright Local Union 1102 of Warren, MI.
He is survived by his loving wife, Deloris Sue Newell Brickey and the following children – Jackie Sue McKillip (Brian), Waldena Denise Chase, Ramona Brickey Bailey (Larry) and Rosemary (Rosie) Roberts (Charles Zane). He also was loved by sixteen grandchildren and a host of great and great-great grandchildren. Additionally, Walter is survived by three siblings – June Montgomery, Wilma Vanhoose and Donnie Brickey (Jerry Jones).
A celebration of Walter’s life will be a gathering on Saturday, September 23, 2023, from 11 am – 2 pm at the Middle Fork Independent Church of God, 4677 KY 719, Sandy Hook, KY. His family invites everyone to share stories, photos, special memories and a meal with us.
