Thelma Jean "Jeannie" Flannery

Thelma Jean “Jeannie” Flannery, age 68, of Sandy Hook, passed away Monday, January 11, 2021 at St. Claire Regional Medical Center, Morehead, KY. 

Born March 24, 1952, Jeannie was the daughter of the late Humphurs and Linnie Conn Lewis; and granddaughter of Tillman and Laura Osborne Conn and Jerry and Lorena Waggoner Lewis.  She was preceded in death by three brothers, Paul, Arnold, and Clifford “Bicy” Lewis.

Jeannie is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Raymond Woodrow “Woody” Flannery; two adoring daughters, Rebecca (Dean) Maggard and Mignon (Wendell) Simmons; three cherished grandchildren, Shelby Fraley, Kyndle Simmons, and Samuel Maggard, all of Sandy Hook; one brother, Ricky (Debbie) Lewis of Morehead; and a host of nieces and nephews that will sadly miss her.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister.  She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her loved ones.  Jeannie was a Christian for more than 40 years and faithfully attended Concord Enterprise Baptist Church.  She spent more than a decade employed by Northeast Headstart where she was devoted in caring for each and every child.  She will be lovingly remembered by all who knew her. 

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, January 16, 2021 at 1:00pm at Lewis and Ferguson Funeral Home with Bros. Ricky Lewis and Ford McKenzie officiating.  Burial will follow in the Lewis Family Cemetery, on Brown Ridge, Sandy Hook, KY. 

Visitation will be from 6:00pm-9:00pm, Friday, January 15, 2021 at Lewis and Ferguson, 603 N. KY &, Sandy Hook, KY 41171.

Pallbearers included Ricky Lewis, Wendell Simmons, Dean Maggard, James Lewis, Tim Flanery, Randy Flanery, Danny Skaggs, and Kevin Flanery.  Honorary pallbearers will be Marion Lewis, Charles Eugene Lewis, Jonathon Lewis, Gale Kemplin, Mike Adkins, and Jess Johnson Jr.

COVID-19 mandates will be observed.
