Ruth (Barker) Pennington

Ruth Baker Pennington, 92 of Hitchens, KY passed away Friday, March 5, 2020 at Carter Nursing & Rehab at Grayson, KY. She was born January 24, 1929 at Elliott County, the daughter of the late Alice Sparks Barker and Jim Barker.

Ruth was a member of the Blaine Trace Enterprise Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Pennington. Three brothers:  Ray Barker, Bert Barker and Pleas Barker. Five sisters:  Ruby Woods, Faye Lawson, Erma Ison, Linda Nelson and Blanche Laney. One son in law, Duane (Danny) Campbell, one grandson Jakob Pennington Hall.

Ruth is survived by two daughters, Brends & husband Bob Dudon of Grayson, KY. Mary Campbell of Hitchins, KY. Three sons, Raymond & wife Wilma Pennington of Webbville, KY, Gary & wife Esta Pennington, Randy & wife Pam Pennington of Grayson, KY. A brother, John & wife Velma Barker of Ohio.

Twelve grandchildren:  Sandra, Sandra's father Dale & husband Greg Messer, Jacqueline & Scott Hall, Margaret & Lawrence Ison, Regina Pennington, Scott Pennington, Larry Pennington, Racheal May, Jason Campbell, Jennifer & Ova Sexton, Robert Blevins, Sean Blevins and Magan Bromwell Pennington.

Twelve great grandchildren:  Nick and Zack Messer, Cameron Seagraves, Raymond and Stanley Cornett, Chloe Pennington Hall, Paige May, Chelsey, David and Haley Sexton, Austin Campbell and Tallulah McGlone.

Three great great grandchildren:  Paytin Messer, Macie Messer and Olivia Cains

Funeral will be conducted Friday, March 12 at 1:00 PM at Lewis & Ferguson Funeral Home at Sandy Hook, KY with Bro. Gary Sparks officiating. Friends may call after 11:00 AM Friday. Burial will be at the Pennington/Hardy Cemetery on Gallion Branch Rd.
