Rosina Hunter Binion, age 92 of Frankfort, KY passed away Saturday, May 9, 2020, at the nursing home where she has resided for the last few years.
Mrs. Binion was born on September 13, 1927, in Elliott County (Dew Drop). Donna Rosina Hunter (Her given name) was the daughter of the late Ally Lee Hunter and Ruth Pennington Hunter.
She is survived by her grandson Zachary James Binion of Sandy Hook, Kentucky, granddaughter Kristy Leigh Binion-Wilkinson of Canton, Ohio, her sister Genevieve Hunter Schwarz of Florida, and many nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Glen E. Binion, son Hunter E. Binion, her 3 brothers Delmas, Lee, James and 5 of her sisters; Ruby, Thelma, Nadine, Vivian and Beatrice.
She was a member of Woodland Baptist Church. She spent her early years as a school teacher, which she enjoyed greatly. She, along with her husband owned their own insurance agency in Frankfort, Kentucky for 35 years.
Rosina was a very patient and loving woman who enjoyed her role as mother, and grandmother. Her family was very important to her and she did all she could to take care of them. She was a hard worker who was always keeping busy. She loved to work in her garden and felt blessed to have been raised on her family’s farm. She will be greatly missed by those who knew her.
No funeral services will be held at this time. The family will have a private ceremony at a later date.
