Oral Denzil Moore

Oral Denzil Moore, 71, of Sandy Hook, KY, slipped away from this life and was welcomed into his Heavenly home, on Sunday, October 1, 2023, surrounded by family.  Denzil was born on February 4, 1952, in Fleming County, Kentucky, the son of the late Scott and Amy Barbara (Stephens) Moore.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers: Billy Moore, William Walker Moore and Franklin Moore, and three sisters: Lena Moore Kendall, Guthra Moore Wiegand, and Lillian Moore Elliott.

Denzil was of the Christian faith and a member of the Watson Enterprise Baptist Church.  He loved the Lord, his family, and all his brothers and sisters in Christ.  When he wasn’t attending church or a revival, he enjoyed hunting his rabbit dogs, working on a “project”, or spending time with his loved ones.  He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Etta (Riggsby) Moore, his two children- Monnica Noble (William) and Oral Bradley Moore (Jessica), four grandchildren: Hunter Noble, Logan Noble, Connor Moore and Emily Moore and two special great nephews- Bentley Puckett and Mason Puckett.

Additionally, he is survived by four brothers- Wilbur Moore (Sue), Larry Moore (Joyce), David Moore (Betty) and Stanley Moore and two sisters Edytha (Moore) Sloas and Jean (Moore) Harris and a host of nieces and nephews he loved greatly.

Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, October 5, 2023, at 11:00 am at Lewis & Ferguson Funeral Home in Sandy Hook, KY with Bro. Larry Dale Ison and Bro. John Paul Skaggs officiating.  Burial will follow at Whispering Pines Cemetery in Sandy Hook, KY.  Visitation will be held Wednesday from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

Serving as pallbearers:  JR Hall, Kevin Lewis, Jerry Lewis, Joey Preston, Tracy Kitchen and Dale Worthington.

Serving as honorary pallbearers: Michael “Mike” Riggsby, Fred Roseberry, William Noble, Hunter Noble, Logan Noble, and Connor Moore.
