Margaret Rutha (Fannin) Conley

Margaret Rutha Fannin Conley was called away by her savior July 28, 2022 at the Clark Memorial Hospital, Jeffersonville, IN. Margaret was born August 6, 1927 in Elliott County, KY.

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years Frank Conley Sr.; one son Frank Conley, Jr; an infant grandson Doris F. Conley; her parents Eugene and Nancy L Skaggs Fannin and a brother, Cornelious A. "Buster" Fannin.

She was saved and baptized in 1950 in the Enterprise Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and loved needlework, sewing beautiful quilts, crochet and she loved attending basketball games, eating out and shopping.

She worked in the sewing factory in West Liberty, KY, the Elliott County Public Library through the Green Thumb Program and in her later years she went to work for Walmart in Morehead, KY where she worked as a cashier until she was 83 years old.

She was also the primary caretaker of Frank's mother and father and of her mother and father.

She spent the last 5 years with her daughter Lynn Conley in Jeffersonville, IN where she became the Granny of the neighborhood - everyone she met loved her and listening to the stories of her life. She loved meeting and talking to people.

She left behind her daughter, Lynn Conley of Jeffersonville, IN; two grandsons: Michael Scott Adams of Mt. Plesant, SC and Darren Frank Conley of West Liberty, KY. Three great grandchildren and a host of family and friends to mourn her passing.

Funeral will be conducted Tuesday, August 2, 2022 at Lewis & Ferguson Funeral Home at 1:00 PM with Rev. Roger B Skaggs and Rev. John Paul Skaggs officiating. Burial will be at the Conley Family Cemetery. Friends may call Monday, Aug. 1, 2022 6-9 PM at the funeral home.
