Lula Mae (Skaggs) Maggard

Lula Mae Skaggs Maggard, 90, of Elliott County passed away Saturday, November 26, 2022 at her residence. She was born at Gimlet, the daughter of the late Samuel Elliott and Lissie Alice Knipp Skaggs. She was also preceded in death by her husband James Floyd Maggard, two daughters in law Debbie and Verna Mae Maggard, grandson in law Bob Ody, a sister Mary Judea Skaggs, brother George William Skaggs.

Mrs. Maggard was a Christian and member of the Newfoundland Community Church. She worked as a custodian at Morehead State University and was a homemaker. She was so very proud of her family and would tell everyone.

She is survived by five sons:  Shannon (Marsha) Maggard, Matthew (Vanessa Gaye) Maggard, Perry Maggard, David (Jody) Maggard, Dean (Rebecca) Maggard all of Elliott County, KY. A brother, Bobby Estill (Ann) Skaggs and sister in law Mary Skaggs.

Twelve grandchildren:  Cynthia Dawn (Shannon) Porter, Crystal Rae Ody, Corinna Dail (Bill) Holbrook, James Matthew (Tina) Maggard, Vanessa Michele (Brandon) Ison, Nathon Maggard, Nicole (Scott) Buckner, Brian Keith (Lisa) Maggard, Amy Jo (Justin) Kegley, Joseph Linville (Brianna) Maggard, Shelby Elizabeth Fraley, Samuel Christian Blake Maggard.

27 Great Grandchildren and 5 Great Great Grandchildren.

Funeral will be conducted Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Lewis & Ferguson Funeral Home. Friends may call after 6:00 PM Monday at the funeral home. Interment at Skaggs Flat Cemetery.
