Lois (Rose) Ward

Lois Rose Ward, age 94, passed peacefully at Oakmont Manor in Flatwoods, KY on November 4, 2023. She was born in Warren, OH on December 11, 1928 to Bessie and Pierce Rose. She spent much of her life in Sandy Hook, KY with her parents, husband and children. She would later move to Boyd County where she and her husband became "Snowbirds" splitting their time between homes in Kentucky and Florida. Her last five years were spent at Morning Pointe.

Her best memories involved family, friends, and church. She was happiest when she was entertaining or visiting with friends. She was a member of Rose Hill Baptist Church where she enjoyed volunteer work with her Sunday School Class.

Lois was preceded in death by her husband Charles Ward, Jr. and a son Stephen Keith Ward. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother Wayne Rose of Ashland and a sister Mary Dickerson of Springfield, OH. 

She is survived by a daughter Renaye (Daniel) Sparks of Lexington, KY and a son William Craig (Donna) Ward of Catlettsburg, KY. Four grandchildren:  Meleah Ward of Florence KY, Stevie Ward of Ironton, OH, Nicolas Sparks of Inez, KY, Carly (Anthony) Sparks Compton of Atlanta GA and three great grandchildren.

The family would like to thank a special friend, Belva Scaggs, the staff at Morning Pointe, Oakmont Manor and Community Hospice for their care and support.

A celebration of life will be held at Lewis & Ferguson Funeral Home at Sandy Hook, KY on Sunday, November 12, 2023 from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM
