Johnny Edwin Carter, 70 of Sandy Hook, KY, passed away Tuesday December 20, 2022 at his residence.
Johnny was born May 28, 1952 at Morgan County, the son of the late Elbert and Mary Stephens Carter. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Bernie Bitner and Glenna Faye Carter as well as a sister-in-law, Jeweline Carter.
Johnny attended Grayson Freewill Baptist Church and was a laborer.
He is survived by a daughter, Tammy Renee Carter of Flemingsburg, KY. His grandchildren: Chassidy Spencer, Jacob Harris of Flemingsburg, Jared W. Carter of NC, Dalton Carter and Shelby G Damron both of Flemingsburg. A great grandchild, Journey M. Harris.
Johnny is also survived by his brothers and sisters: Junior Carter of Sandy Hook, KY; Carl (Joann) Carter of California, Jimmy (Linda) Carter of Tennessee; Brenda Whitt, Marcella Pavese, Wilma (Jimmy) Fraley all of Sandy Hook, KY; Sandy Winkleman of Mt. Sterling, KY; Opal Johnson of Sandy Hook, KY and Judy Frazier of Indiana. Several nieces and nephews also survive him.
Funeral will be conducted Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Lewis & Ferguson Funeral Home at Sandy Hook, KY with Bro. Billy Conley and Bro. Rodney Perkins officiating. Burial will be at the Carter Family Cemetery. Friends may call 6:00 - 9:00 PM Monday at the funeral home.
