Elizabeth Imogene (Stafford) Skaggs

Elizabeth Imogene Stafford Skaggs passed away peacefully at Elliott Nursing and Rehabilitation Center surrounded by her family on December 23, 2023. Imogene was born at Green, KY on July 27, 1938 to the late Harry Gobel and Addy Adaline Holbrook Stafford.

Imogene was a devoted Christian and a member of the Concord Enterprise Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her parents and husband of 50 years Elijah Norwood Skaggs. She is also preceded in death by her sister Marie Mayse, brothers James Milton Stafford, Russell Stafford, George Stafford and Charles Jackson Skaggs.

Imogene leaves behind sons, Charles (Teresia Skaggs of Sandy Hook, Elijah Gobel (Anita) Skaggs of Stark Ridge and daughters, Valerie Elliott of Sandy Hook and Dianna (Johnny) Porter of Bruin. Grandchildren:  Adam (Jessica) Skaggs, Jonathan (Kristen) Porter, Dewayne Elliott, Renea (Barry) Dickerson, Alyssa (Dennis) Lewis and Evan Skaggs. Two step grandsons:  Matthew (Bridgett) Elliott and Kevin Elliott. She has 13 great grandchildren who she dearly cherished. She has two brothers in law:  Joe (Opal) Skaggs and Waldo (Yevonne) Skaggs. Sisters in law:  Erma Gaye Stafford, Marzella Hawes, Arvetta Adkins, Helen Williams and Lois Machen. Along with a host of family and friends who will sadly miss her.

Funeral will be conducted Thursday, Dec. 28, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Lewis & Ferguson Funeral Home with Bro. Willie Skaggs and Bro. Brian Flannery officiating. Burial at Skaggs Family Cemetery. Loved ones and friends may visit Wednesday 6:00 - 9:00 PM at the funeral home.
