Edna Carol (Barker) McDowell Ison

Edna Carol Barker McDowell Ison, 83 of Blaine, KY passed away Thursday, October 14, 2021 at her residence. Carol was born October 3, 1938 at Paintsville, KY, the daughter of the late Walter and Opal Sparks Barker. She was also preceded by two husbands, Burl McDowell and Phillip Ison. She was also preceded in the death by 4 bothers, 4 sisters and two step daughters, Delora Queen and Delena Peters.

She was a Christian and member of Elizabeth Church at Martha, KY. She was a cook and cafeteria worker at Blaine Elementary School for many years.

She is survived by her loving son and daughter in law, Anthony and Karen McDowell, Two grandchildren, Kyle & wife Tabitha McDowell and Ashley & husband Anthony McDaniel. Five great grandchildren: Alliah, Aiden, Conner, Ariella and Amara all of Blaine, KY. A sister, Alma & husband Jim Litteral of Martha, KY.

Carol is also survived by her step children: Zanetta & husband Keith Ison, Phillip Ison Jr & wife Cindy. 7 grand children and 9 great grandchildren.

She adored her family and loved them very much. She will be sadly missed.

Visitation will be Saturday, October 16, 2021 at Lewis & Ferguson Funeral Home at Sandy Hook, KY 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM. Funeral will be conducted Sunday, October 17, 2021 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with Bro. Emmitt Barker and Bro. Keith Sturgill officiating. Interment will be at the McDowell Family Cemetery.
