David Dwight Dennis

David Dwight Dennis was born on September 7, 1978. On Sunday, July 2, 2023, he passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones. He was the son of David and Regina Adkins Dennis and a brother to Jeff Dennis (Linda Roe) and Timmy (Brenda) Dennis.

He grew up and lived in Sandy Hook, KY. Dwight had four children, two sons, Tyler and Bryce Dennis and two daughters, Emilee and Chloe Dennis all of Sandy Hook, KY. Dwight attended and graduated Elliott County High School in 1997 and attended and graduated Rowan County Vocational School. Dwight worked for the Department of Corrections at three different facilities: KY State Reformatory, Eastern KY Correctional Complex and Little Sandy Correctional Complex. Dwight worked as a correctional officer, Correctional complex Sargent and Lieutenant.

Dwight loved working on cars and he had a talent for it. He worked at Dave's auto sales, Adkins Auto Sales, Gary's Auto Sales and Jerry's Body Shop. Dwight loved spending time with family, friends and loved ones. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, boating, canoeing, and fishing. Dwight was of the Baptist faith and was saved before he passed. Dwight had a very big heart and cared for many. He never cared to help anyone. He will be missed by many.

Funeral will be conducted Thursday, July 6, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Lewis & Ferguson Funeral Home at Sandy Hook, KY. Burial will be at the David Dennis Cemetery. Friends may call 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
