Curtis L Adkins

Curtis "Curt" Lee Adkins, 83 of Isonville, KY the son of the late Harry and Prudia Adkins passed away Monday, September5, 2022 with his loving wife by his side.

Curt was united in marriage to Freda Fannin on October 28, 1960. Curt accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior in the spring of 1965.

Curt was a carpenter, pipefitter, retired school bus driver of 37 years (and loving father figure to many children) and farmer. He  loved playing Rook with friends and watching UK and Elliott County Basketball and playing golf.

Curt took pride in his farm and home and gardening. When away from home, he was always ready to head back to his "Sweet Newcombe".

In addition to his parents, Curt was preceded in death by two sisters; Pauline Bealor and Justine Chandler. Three brothers, Harry "Junior" Adkins Jr; Eldon Adkins and Robert Adkins.

Curt is survived by his loving wife Freda Adkins of 61 years. Additionally surviving a sister, Donna (Phillip) Fannin of Beaver Creek, OH and a God given brother Darrell (Debbie) O'Hara  Isonville, KY followed by a multitude of loving nieces and nephews and host of many friends.

Pallbearers: Matthew O'Hara, Nathan O'Hara, Phillip Fannin, Jeremiah Butts, Bobby Maxie and Terrell Allen

Honorary pallbearers:  Carl Kazee, Ronald Wheeler, Roger Skaggs, Gary Oliver, Scott Kuzak and all Curt's Rook playing buddies.

Visitation will be held at Lewis & Ferguson Funeral Home on Wednesday, September7, 2022 from 6-9 PM

A brief one-hour visitation will be available from 12PM (Noon) to 1:00 PM  on Thursday, prior to funeral services.

Funeral services will be conducted by Darrell O'Hara and Josh Sloas at Newcombe Valley Enterprise Baptist Church at 1:00 PM Thursday, September 8, 2022. Burial will be at the Elliott County Memory Gardens.
