Clayton "Clay" Green Holbrook, age 61, of Route 504 in Elliott County, passed away Tuesday, August 4, 2020, at Saint Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead.
Born November 4, 1958, in Carter County, he was the youngest child of the late Harvey and Dixie Lee Holbrook. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Lucille Dailey and Daisy Lee Williams; a special brother in law and best buddy, Harry Holbrook; and a special aunt and uncle, Idell and Clay Wheeler.
Clay is survived by siblings Garnetta Holbrook of Sandy Hook, KY, Judie Holbrook of Sandy Hook, KY, Harvey (Cynthia) Holbrook of Sandy Hook, KY, and Christine Morgan of Louisville, OH; two brothers in law, John Dailey of Hillsboro, OH and Art Williams of Sandy Hook, KY; special caregiver/girlfriend, Tammy Dillon; and a host of nieces and nephews that will sadly mourn his passing.
Clay was not only the youngest child for his parents, but the only child born in a hospital for the family. He has shared a bond with his siblings, especially Judie with whom he lived for the past four years.
His adoring siblings recall his love of puzzles as a young child that later developed into a love for comic books. Clay always held fast to his work whether it was puzzles, comic books, or magazines later in life. In his final days, he was holding his pen and tending to "his work."
