C. Ray Barker

Ray Barker 89, of Isonville, KY passed away Friday, October 23, 2020 at his residence. 
Ray was born November 5, 1930 in Elliott County, the son of the late James H. and Mary Alice Barker. He was also preceded in death by six brothers and sisters:  Burt Barker,  Plez Barker,  Ermie Ison,  Linda Lou Nelson, Blanche Laney and Faye Lawson.
He was an upholster for over 30 years and worked most of his career at Kroehler Furniture Manufacturing. He was a former deacon at First Baptist Church in North Carolina. He enjoyed visiting other churches when he was able.
Ray is survived by his wife, Marcella Lawson Gilbert Barker. Six children:  Ronnie and Jerry Barker both of Hitchens, KY.  Kenneth Gilbert of Olive Hill, KY; James Gilbert of Ocala, FL; Linda Smith of Elliott County, KY; and Debra Lewis of Morehead, KY. Several Grandchildren as well as several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. A brother and two sisters also survive him:  John David Barker of Ohio; Ruth Pennington of Grayson, KY and Ruby Woods of Thousand Sticks, KY and extended family.  He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
Funeral will be conducted Sunday, October 25, 2020 at 2:00 PM at the Lewis & Ferguson Funeral with visitation starting at 11:00 AM with Pastor Charlie Johnson officiating. Burial will be at the Elliott County Memory Gardens.
Covid 19 precautions will be asked to be observed. Masks will be provided for those that don’t have one. Hand sanitizer will be provided. We ask that visitors maintain 6 ft. of separation be observed. Lewis & Ferguson thanks you in advance.
