Bobby Don Kemplin

Bobby Don Kemplin, age 74, of Newfoundland, KY, departed this life at home on December 18, 2022.  

Bob was preceded in death by two brothers, a twin, Billy Von Kemplin and Ben David Kempin; a sister, Demetrius Sue Warren; parents, Demetrius David Kemplin and Jewel Dean Kemplin; brother-in-law, Frank Stafford; and a niece Angela Stafford.  

Bob is survived by two brothers, Henry Dale Kemplin (Audrey) and Elmo Gale Kemplin (Rita), both of Elliott County; one sister, Ida Sharon Stafford of Newfoundland; seven nephews; one niece; and a host of great nephews, great nieces, and great great nephews.

Bob was a character.  He loved to debate issues with anyone that would participate with him.  He saw the world a bit different than most and marched to the beat of his own drum, a drum that we loved to beat for him just to get a rise out of him.  

Bob loved his family, his nieces and nephews were special to him.  He taught more than one of them to drive.  He was always up for an adventure in his younger days and typically had a nephew in tow.  

Bob worked as a dispatcher for Elliott Emergency Management Services.  He was also a dedicated friend and offered assistance to Lewis and Ferguson Funeral Home.

Later in life, Bob's faith gave him comfort.  As his body began to fail him he would stay closer to home and spend more time with his great nieces and great great nephews.  

Bob will be greatly missed by all who were lucky enough to call him friend and especially by his family that love and cherish him dearly.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00pm on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at Lewis and Ferguson Funeral Home in Sandy Hook with Shannon Maggard officiating.  Visitors may call from noon till hour of service.  Burial will follow at Elliott County Memory Gardens.
