Bill Salyers
Larry William “Bill” Salyers, 76 of Sandy Hook, KY passed away Sunday, January 3, 2021 at the Community Hospice Center at Ashland, KY.
Bill was born February 24, 1944 in Elliott County, the son of the late Tommy and Jane Johnson Salyers. He was also preceded in death by a sister and two brothers: Opal Lewis, Proctor Salyers and Walter Salyers.
Bill was a carpenter with Carpenters Local 472 and a master woodworker. He also was a skilled plumber, electrician, and mechanic and could fix just about anything he set his mind to. He loved bluegrass music, but more than anything, he loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, extended family and friends.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Helen Jeanette Ison Salyers and three children: Larry Bill (Leisha) Salyers, Jr. of Sandy Hook, KY; Teresa (Buck) Bryant of Grayson, KY; Rita (Todd) Workman of Newark, OH; four grandchildren: Josh (Kristen) Salyers, Sheena Workman, Jani (Jamey) Wade, and Lakyn (Cody) Prichard; six great-grandchildren who were his greatest joy: Jaxon and Abram Salyers, Braydan and Aydan Wade, Waylon Wolf and Remi Prichard. He is survived by two siblings: brother, James Everett Salyers, of Sandy Hook, KY and sister, Plura Middaugh of Florida, as well as by extended family and friends who will miss him so very much.
There will be a visitation Wednesday, January 6, 2021, 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Lewis & Ferguson Funeral Home at Sandy Hook, KY Burial will be at the Twin Oaks Cemetery (Salyers Cemetery).
